Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, and Medical Device Experience: Jim has over 20 years of management experience in the manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic products (including 10 years with GlaxoSmithKline). He has had direct responsibility for compliance with government agencies such as FDA, EPA, DEA, and DA throughout his career. Processes and training programs developed by Jim have resulted in improved FDA audits and relief from Consent Decrees.
While at GlaxoSmithKline, Jim held many positions, the last of which was Manager of Change Control in the Compliance organization. In doing so, Jim was the point person for ensuring that all documents and data were available during audits and inspections. His auditing experience includes both internal and external audits with suppliers and sister sites. Jim has also designed, purchased, and installed both validated and non-validated equipment throughout North America and Europe.
Jim received his Associates Degree in Engineering from Central Carolina Technical College and attended Campbell University Business School. He has numerous patents to his credit and is a Certified Packaging Professional with the Institute of Packaging Professionals. He has held many positions with I.O.P.P. that include Southeast Region V.P. and President and Founder of the Triangle Chapter. In 1998 he was honored by receiving his induction into The College of Fellows of I.O.P.P.
